Toronto Outdoor Painting Festival
This summer, I wanted to host a little outdoor painting festival to celebrate the act of painting and observing nature and life from our surroundings.
This event will be a juried competition that is open to all artists working in various mediums such as: watercolour, acrylic, gouache, pastel, charcoal/pencil, and oil. The only requirement will be the size of your painting surfaces which will be 4x4" in order to emphasize the merit of your compositions.
This event will run from 9am-9pm on Saturday May 23, 2020. Artist check-in will start at 8:30am at the Grenadier Restaurant at High Park, Toronto, and all registered painting surfaces must be submitted for judging by the day end, May 23 at 9 pm. Awards will be announced during a closing ceremony on Sunday, May 24. Please join us at the Arts Etobicoke from 1:30 pm to 3:30.
There will be an artists’ reception at Arts Etobicoke on Friday May 29, 2020 from 6pm - 9pm.
The exhibition will run at Arts Etobicoke from June 1st to 28th. All paintings will be exhibited for the duration unless prior arrangements have been made.
Registration information and rules will be sent out in April.
Prize for the 2020 Outdoor Painting Festival:
First prize: $350
Second prize: $150
Third prize: $100
2 Honourable Mentions: Outdoor painting materials (e.g. Turner's Acrylic Gouache set, Multimedia sketchbook, etc...)
Outside jurors will be chosen and to be announced prior to the competition.
